5 minute freewrite 2723 prompt do or die

My sister came up with the idea of her fishing with me. She told me if I would go, she could catch the fish, all I had to do was drive the boat and put her on the fish. I agreed to do this, but now I am regretting it.

I wrote about the troubles of getting my boat and trailer ready and putting four crab traps in the river, and I told her we had to run them every two days, if they are left longer than that, the crabs die. On the way home from setting the traps, my boat trailer broke and can not be fixed, it rusted into.

On Tuesday, we took my boat off the trailer and blocked it up, that was enough for one day. Wednesday, my husband and I took his boat and picked up the crab traps and brought them back home until I can get another trailer fixed for my boat. We caught 17 crabs. Then my sister and I went to the DMV and bought a new tag for her trailer.

After getting the crab traps, we went to my sister's and blocked up an old boat she has. She said I could use her trailer. Both tires were flat, it had been sitting for 5 years. She had an air pump and they both pumped up, except one quickly went flat, so we had to go home and get my spare. The wiring was also no good, so I had to buy new and rewire it. The lights are submersible, but both were broken where water could get into them, so I bought new lights and mounted them, what a pain that was. Whoever drilled the holes for the lights put them where the bolts and nuts hit the u-bolts for the uprights.

Today my husband and I put the new lights and wires on it, then noticed the other tire had gone flat. We had to go home and get my husband's spare tire, and finally, we could bring it home. Now we have to set up the bunks to match my boat. This trailer has a deep V in it, and my boat is flat on the bottom. It can be done, but it is going to take some thinking, and if I know my husband, it will take a lot of cussing.

Several times throughout all these troubles, I have said I do not think this is a good idea, but do or die, my sister wants to do it. I really do not think we will make enough money for her to even pay her babysitter.

She has never fished with me while I was fishing for money, and I do not think she knows what is involved in it. We have to catch bait for the crab traps, then take the crabs we catch, bust them up, and put half a crab in each pigfish trap to catch the pigfish for bait to catch the trout.

When fishing, she will need to row the boat from one place to another, and she will need to row after I shut the engine down. She can not bump the bottom of the boat. Some days, I will anchor 25 or 30 times, and she will need to pull the anchor each time. It is not going to be fun like it is when we go play fishing. She is going to need to change her bait when I say change it, once a pigfish gets tired, they will not grunt or swim around. Trout like a lively bait, if she leaves it too long, all she will catch is catfish. It will be interesting to see how all of this will work out.
