Damp Skin vs. Wet Skin vs. Dry Skin (Short)

Wet Skin: Right after washing your face, your skin will be wet, meaning there is a layer of water on the surface. Applying skincare products at this stage might hinder penetration due to the water barrier, and you could end up mixing your products with tap water. This may create issues such as skincare pilling or, in the worst case, sensitivities.
Damp Skin: To achieve damp skin, pat off the water droplets with a clean towel. Unlike wet skin, damp skin doesn't have water on the surface; instead, the skin itself has absorbed some water and is slightly more hydrated. Essentially, freshly washed and dried skin is considered damp, and this state may enhance product absorption and spreadability.
Dry Skin: To obtain completely dry skin, you need to wait 10-15 minutes after patting it dry. This waiting period allows the skin to return to its normal pH and restore some of its natural oils, which may reduce potential irritation and sensitivities.
