Our Freshly Germinating and flourishing Fluted Pumpkin

Hello Hive

Happy new week to my Hive family, I hope that that we have had some adequate rest for the weekend and are feeling strong and healthy to face the new week.
The weekend has started with us here already and we grace the germination of our plated fluted pumpkins.

This is how we go about planted fluted pumpkins during the dry season. After the land has been cultivated like you can see here. The seeds are planted and watered then we equally carry out mulching for the seeds right after planting.
Mulching is done to protect the growing seedlings from excessive heat from the sunlight. When the temperature is harsh the planted seeds and seedlings may rot and wither away. Mulching is the simple procedure of covering the planted seeds with leaves or shrub to prevent any direct contact with sunlight.

Whenever mulching is done and seedlings are watered, they tend germinate faster and the soil around the plant is protected from excessive dryness. Mulching of seedlings is very important for planted crops at this time.

Line by line the seedlings are germinating. We are going to carry out an irrigation session today. If it is possible to do this at least three times in a week it will be very helpful for germinating seedlings. A plot of land was cultivated for this session and I am glad that majority of the seedlings have germinated. The major task after planting is the irrigation.
We have to bring the engine to farm and pass the pipe to do this excercise. And once we are through for the day the pumping machines is kept away in safety. This will be repeated at least three times this week for germinating seedlings to survive. The temperature is often on the high side this day as we approach the third month of the year where we would be expecting the rain to commence.
