and there was no better way to satisfy our appetites by enjoying a boodle fight of food prepared by my aunt.

A "budol fight" is a Filipino communal eating tradition where food is served on banana leaves, and everyone eats with their hands. It’s often associated with gatherings, celebrations, and team-building events, promoting camaraderie and shared experiences. The name comes from "boodle fight," a term popularized by the Philippine military, where soldiers eat together as a sign of unity and equality.
It's a fun, messy, and enjoyable way to bond over a feast, usually consisting of rice, grilled meats, seafood, vegetables, and fruits.
