On August 2nd One Championship had what could possibly be their biggest card in history and undoubtly the main attraction was Jonathan Haggerty vs Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
The dust has since settled after a 5 round battle where Rodtang Jitmuangnon emerged victorious, i don't make no secret of the fact that i am a huge fan of Haggerty and quite honestly i am gutted that the One Muay Thai Flyweight title no longer resides on the Old Kent road.
However; the bout was so closely contested that a rematch is almost certain, it seemed a real battle of ranges where Haggerty was attacking from mid to long range and Rodtang from a closer range and i feel there was a moment where Haggerty should have jabbed instead of teeped which saw Rodtang connect with a vicious body shot, though in the rematch i am confident Haggerty can become a two time One Flyweight Muay Thai world champion.
I find it hard to believe that both men are only 22 years old and i know Jonathan made many people proud including myself and i am sure the Jitmuangnon camp feel the same for Rodtang.
