In this video I go over some basic steps in going about solving integrals of trigonometric functions as well as going over an example on solving the integral of cos3(x).

Trigonometric Integrals: Example 1
Example:
Solution:
For examples such as these, in general it is best to write integrals which involve powers of sine and cosine in a form where we only have one sine factor (and the remainder of the integral in terms of cosine) or only one cosine factor (and the remainder of the integral in terms of sine).
The identity: sin2x + cos2x = 1 enables us to convert back and forth between even powers of sine and cosine.
