Greetings, Community!
Delicious Simplicity—a title that says it all when I'm referring to something so simple, straightforward, and naturally delicious.
As I always write, afternoon snacks are a part of every family, even when we're alone somewhere. That moment three hours after lunch, or a little before, that little cup of coffee that's become part of our senses, and the moment we savor it. It's wonderful for those who experience it and find meaning in that special moment.
Sometimes, just bread and coffee—that's what many love—but sometimes we need that special little something sweet, even if the pantry isn't exactly stocked with it. We look around to see what we can make, thinking about that coffee time. We search and search, discovering that with just a few simple ingredients, we can create something amazing—ingredients we have at home for other things or meals, thinking that by using them in a different way, we can achieve something incredible.

For this simple recipe, you will need:
2 tablespoons of margarine
2 tablespoons of sugar (brown sugar was used in this recipe, but you can use white sugar; you can also add a little more sugar if you like)
4 tablespoons of self-rising flour (all-purpose flour can be used)
Since it's a basic dough, you can make it as is, or you can add any spices you prefer. I love cinnamon, but since I didn't have any on hand, I used 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves. (Optional)

The first step is to place the margarine in the bowl you've chosen. Using a wooden spoon, beat until softened. It's not necessary to use a mixer or any other type of beater.

Add the sugar and continue beating until the margarine and sugar are very well combined.

Next, add the flour. Then add the chosen spice, in this case, ground cloves. At this stage, you can already see the consistency of the dough. It's very easy to handle and doesn't stick.

Once the dough is ready, there's no need to let it rest or refrigerate it. You can immediately form small balls and place them on the baking sheet.

Bake in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes. This recipe yielded 12 cookies, based on the ingredient measurements and the portion size. Halfway through baking, you can gently flatten the dough balls with a fork.

Ready, baked, and fresh to enjoy with a delicious afternoon coffee.

I made this recipe again as a gift for a birthday girl. I used the same amount of ingredients, but instead of brown sugar, I used white sugar and vanilla. I formed smaller balls and made 22 cookies. Delicious and perfect for sharing! It's a great idea to avoid arriving empty-handed. This time, I did flatten the dough balls before baking.
