Somebody's Watching Me — Rockwell | Music & Rising Star Stats

After about five months without posting in this section, I’m back today with one of these music posts that I used to do fairly regularly for quite some time. The idea is still pretty much the same: to share a song I like, explain a little about how I came to discover it, and add some fun facts.

During this time, my Spotify playlist kept growing quite a bit, mainly because I kept finding new songs and rediscovering others I hadn't listened to in a long time. So after several months, I figured it was a good time to pick up this section again.

Somebody's Watching Me — Rockwell

My musical choice for this post is “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell, a pretty classic song that I’ve known for many, many years and that I probably first heard on the radio.

For a long time, I could recognize the song immediately as soon as it started playing, but I’d never really known what it was called or who sang it. This is something that happened to me with several well-known songs from the ’80s that you end up hearing many times without actively seeking them out.

Interestingly, I ended up discovering its name many years later thanks to Instagram. I saw a post that used the song as background music, and since it also showed the song’s title, I was finally able to look it up on my own and add it to the music I usually listen to.

One of the most recognizable aspects of “Somebody’s Watching Me” is its chorus and that very distinctive sound that combines pop, synthesizers, and an atmosphere that at times seems quite mysterious.

The song was released by Rockwell in 1984 and went on to become the biggest hit of his career. One of the best-known fun facts about it is that Michael Jackson contributed vocals to the chorus, which also explains why that part is so easy to recognize.

Personally, this is one of those cases where I knew the song long before I knew its name. Instagram simply ended up helping me put a name to a song I’d been listening to for years.

Among the projects I’m currently working on is

, one of the most widely used platforms within my ecosystem. It’s a marketplace focused on NFTs from games and projects built on the Hive Engine, designed to make it easier to buy, sell, and search for assets across different collections.

Over time, I’ve added new features, filters, and improvements to make the platform more user-friendly and adapt it to the needs of each game. Currently, Hive NFTs supports Rising Star Game, Big Dog Bone, Cryptoshots, DemoniCore, and PirateSaga, though the plan is to continue expanding this list in the future.
