Zuco and Horns

Under the cool shade of a tree, two rival beetles found themselves face to face. Zuco, the dung beetle, and Horns, a rhinoceros beetle, always competed for the best scraps.

-This is my territory! -snarled Horns, threatening with his horn.

-Ha! I was here first,’ retorted Zuco, rolling his prized dung ball hard.

Suddenly, a sudden storm surprised them. They sought shelter under a rock, sharing the small space. As the hours passed, they put aside their differences and began to talk.

To their surprise, they discovered that they had much in common: a love of fresh leaves, a passion for hard work and a longing to raise a large family. Gradually, the enmity turned into a sincere friendship.

When the rain subsided, the new friends went out together, promising to help each other. From that day on, Zuco and Horns worked side by side, proving that differences can become strengths when there is understanding and goodwill.
