Un pan que decisiones no tomó / A bread that didn't make any decisions

Trajeron una barra de pan,
de aquellas que en rebanadas está,
la dejaron para desayunar
y se marcharon sin decir nada más.

De aquel pan emerge algo,
es un pan emperifollado,
el sale de la bolsa afanado
no sé quedará ahí esperando.

They brought a loaf of bread,
one of those sliced ones,
left it for breakfast,
and left without saying another word.

Something emerges from that bread,
it's a fancy loaf,
it comes out of the bag eagerly,
I don't know if it will stay there waiting.

Algo detiene al pan emperifollado,
es otro pan que lo está escoltando,
no logra ponerse de pie, sale acostado
y el amigo decorado ayuda a pararlo.

Una vez está de pie,
este pan no sabe hacía donde coger,
quedarse o irse, la decisión difícil es
y se pone a llorar sin saber que hacer.

Something stops the fancy bread,
it's another loaf escorting it,
it can't stand up, it comes out lying down,
and its decorated friend helps it up.

Once it's standing,
this loaf doesn't know which way to go,
to stay or to leave, it's a difficult decision,
and it starts to cry, not knowing what to do.

Tantas lágrimas el pan dejan mojado
y esto hace que se rompa sin reparo,
queda en el piso fragmentado
por no haber tomado una decisión en el tiempo indicado.

Luego llegan por la barra de pan
se la llevan para desayunar,
el emperifollado caminando va
y el fragmentado en el olvido quedará.

So many tears leave the bread wet,
and this causes it to break without hesitation,
it remains fragmented on the floor
for not having made a decision at the right time.
