Hey there, my #Music folks! I’m moving along light as air in my patent-leather alpargatas, with some rock music playing—ready to dance and enjoy life.
Hit it, DJ!

“Live Is Life”—everyone would head to the dance floor to sing along with the famous band Opus: “Na, na, na, na, na… Na, na, na, na, na…”. It was the one part that, as far as I know, many people actually understood. It’s a song with a very catchy rhythm that reached the number-one spot; and even if the lyrics don’t mean much to some, they encompass what life is all about. People have the power, but they don’t always accept it. Friends of #music, live life to the fullest with a smile, and dance until you’re exhausted.
Did you know that laughter and dancing trigger the release of "happiness hormones"? Even when you’re going through a storm, you should smile and say, "Yes, I can"—especially when looking in the mirror. Laugh, recall a joke or an anecdote, and you’ll effectively trick your brain. If you manage to do this, you can consider yourself a winner in the game of life. As for the song "Live Is Life," it was released in 1984; at that time, Paraulata was 23 years old, and she and her friends were university students.
OMG! Let’s be honest—and I mean completely honest: Becky was the one who actually studied—a total bookworm, always with a book in her hands—while the rest of us, her besties, would just copy off her during exams. That said, she also enjoyed going to the beach, hitting the movies, and dancing at clubs. Believe it or not, life changes us; as the years go by, some people tend to become more cautious, sedentary, and calm—a group I definitely don’t belong to—and they start seeking out quieter places to spend their time.
I remember it because Paraulata bought herself some new alpargatas—patent-leather ones, just the way she likes them. But the TV star lost one of them while dancing to “Live Is Life”—believe it or not, she absolutely loves that song—and we, her gal pals, cheered her on from the dance floor:
“Dance away, my dear friend—after all, your alpargatas are patent leather!”
Paraulata still enjoys a lively time—music, dancing, and all that—especially when tunes from the 70s and 80s start playing; she’ll rush to the dance floor to cut a rug, never letting go of her cuatro and maracas. She slips on her patent-leather alpargatas and starts to dance. I believe that’s the right way to be—to set aside the lamentations—because dwelling on things doesn’t fix what’s beyond our control, even when we’re facing losses, obstacles, separations, or any number of other challenges.
My #Hive family, keep smiling—even if you fall into a deep hole—and glance around just in case someone saw you, but don’t stay on the ground. I agree with many experts, and this also aligns with my own life experience; as my dad used to say:
“A smile from the heart can open many doors—never stop smiling, Mafa.”
Everyone lives their life in their own way. However, one shouldn’t waste time complaining, as this fails to address the root of the problem; furthermore, some people do not enjoy their journey along the path of life—even though they are fully capable and have the means to do so. Instead, they have put everything off until later—without even knowing if there will be a "later."
This is how it goes in all areas of life; our tastes tend to shift—whether it’s regarding films, music, books, TV series, or soap operas. Yet, deep down, we remain the same young people at heart, full of dreams, aspirations, and a zest for life. Above all, we remain music lovers—especially of rock, just like my friend Paraulata. To share with @ablaze and #ThreeTuneTuesday, I’ve picked three songs that I love because they make me want to dance.
Let the music play, DJ!

One of the wonderful things about music is that songs never go out of style; they serve as a bridge between the past and the present. Young folks of #Hive, if you aren’t familiar with Opus, they were an Austrian rock band formed in 1973 that disbanded in 2021. Their hits include "Flyin' High," "Rock Me Amadeus," and "Again and Again," among others. Here is my personal favorite: "Live Is Life," released on the album of the same name.

“Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na…”
When you cannot find a way out of your problems and sadness, sing and dance—while the gray clouds dissipate and the sun comes out.

Another song that gets Paraulata out onto the dance floor is “Walking On Sunshine”—it doesn’t matter if we don’t have a partner. You just have to follow the rhythm; and if people say we’re crazy—well, sometimes the truth doesn’t hurt. I think the real crazy ones are those who don’t do what they love for fear of what others might say. This song is by the English rock band Katrina & The Waves and was released in 1983.

“Radiant, radiant
I feel alive, I feel love…”
The magic of love makes us dance, laugh, live, and enjoy life. Oh la la.

“It's My Life” by Bon Jovi is a great choice for enjoying life and dancing until you drop. This song was released in 2000 on the album Crush. They are one of my favorite bands; their hits include “Always,” “Livin' On A Prayer,” and “Bed Of Roses,” among others.

Bon Jovi - It's My Life (Official Music Video)
“It’s my life, it’s now or never
I’m not going to live forever
I just want to live while I’m alive…”
As Bon Jovi says, life is “now or never”; don’t wait to live it.

Music folks—sing, dance, and do everything you love. Don’t pay any mind to the hecklers in the cheap seats; they pay very little but sure love to stir up trouble. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re too old to love, to pursue your dreams, or to be happy. Friends, put on your espadrilles—even if they aren’t patent leather—and dance to rock music.
Live your own life and let others live theirs. I hope you enjoy my three songs. I invite you to join in with @ablaze and #ThreeTuneTuesday.
Thanks for visiting my blog on #Hive.
