Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge. For this week, the ruleset we have is Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.

The Ruleset

Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
Available Splinters: Light and Death
Max Mana: 39

My Team

I built my team to take full advantage of the Melee Mayhem ruleset. I guessed that my opponent will use mostly melee monsters and I built my team on countering that. In this battle, I chose the Death Splinter.

Thaddius Brood summoner. He debuffs the opponent team by decreasing magic attack and health by 1.

Cursed Windeku in the first position. It has Thorns and Heal skills. It also deals 3 melee damage and has 10 hearts. My plan in this battle is to take full advantage of his Thorns ability.

Shadow Snitch in the second position. I picked this card because of its Affliction skill. This will prevent the enemy to Heal in case he uses a tank that can heal.

Possessed Puppet in third position. This is a common soulbound reward card. It deals 3 melee damage and has the Double Strike ability. The Melee Mayhem ruleset is one of the few where I can use this card.

Venari Spellsmith in the fourth position. I picked this card because of its Amplify skill which increases Cursed Windeku's Thorns damage.

Ravenhood Warden in the fifth position. This card deals 2 Ranged damage but more importantly provides Shield to my team.

Dhampir Stalker in the last position. This card deals 4 ranged damage and with True Strike ability, it will be a guaranteed hit.

The Opponent

My opponent picked the Light Splinter and true enough, he picked a team of mostly melee monsters.

The Battle

My opponent took advantage of the Target Practice ruleset as he placed a monster with the Martyr ability in second position. It buffed the monsters beside it when it was elimiated. He also has a monster with Inspire ability which gave +1 melee attack to all his units. My tank was quickly dispatched. However, the rest of my team was good enough to win the battle.
