Angels among us

When the taps run dry, it for sure ain't no fun!
Yes, we have rainwater harvesting tanks, but we had not connected them to the house. Too costly and a little too late at our stAge of life. I still talk of we, us, ours...
Lack of water and electricity has plagued many South Africans for the past couple of years. It is not getting any better; the problem has only escalated. It would take a miracle to change the status quo!
Although our suburb's commercial area often has outages with their very old infrastructure, we seldom have any where I live.
This week was a different story.
There was a burst water pipe about one kilometre away, and our water pipes ran dry soon after lunchtime.
Amazingly, both sets of guests coming from different regions were not fazed by this! They said they are accustomed to having no water where they live!
We store water in 5-litre bottles in the event of an outage, but they also ran dry, so Bonginkosi had to fetch water from the JoJo tanks. The swimming pool was almost overflowing and would be a good source of water as well!
I jokingly suggested putting a bubble bath into the pool, and we could splash all the grime away!
Can you imagine a large pool-sized bubble bath? Sounds heavenly to me!

Both guests assured me they knew what to do in times of no/little water.
I, for sure, was not, so I put a big pot of tank water on the stovetop. A bath I was determined to have, even if it was just 2cm deep!
I got busy doing other chores, and when I went to check on my water, Bonginkosi chased me away, saying he was watching it. My mind was elsewhere, so I happily went away selling my home of 50 years!
Bonginkosi called me, and to my amazement, he had drawn a nice deepish hot bath for me! I could not believe my eyes, felt super spoiled, and pretended to be Cleopatra for just that one hour!
There are angels among us, and they hide in the most unlikely of places. I have many such angels, but this one took the wind out my sails. I honestly thought I would have to be satisfied with a bucket shower!
It was not to be. I had my angel watching over me and making me super thankful once again for the little miracles in life!.
Our water woes came to an abrupt end some 36 hours later when yet another plumber was sent out. He informed a resident that there was nothing wrong with the pipes in our area, the plumbers sent out initially had simply turned ALL the valves off.
All the hassles for nothing, but 'Cleopatra' had her bath, thanks to an angel who resides right here inside my home!
