My Seasonal Results, My Reward Card Upgrades and My Next Seasonal Goal
Season 169 of Splinterlands has just ended, and as always, it’s time to look back: results, mistakes, and new goals.
But first, let's take a step back...
I signed up on
in March 2019, and a few months later I started playing Splinterlands.My passion for Hive and Splinterlands has lasted for more than six years and is still going strong.

Splinterlands was the first blockchain-based game I became passionate about, and it sparked my interest in web3 games, particularly games based on the Hive ecosystem.
From 2019 to today, I have tried several games, but few are still active and constantly updated.
In this small circle of games that are still alive after several years, there is Splinterlands, where season 169 ended a few hours ago and season 170 is now underway.
In this post, I share:
- my results in season 169
- the upgrade of my cards with the aim of improving my game results
- my goals for season 170 (the season currently underway)
My results in season 169
In the recently concluded season 169, I played in my two favorite formats: Modern Format and Frontier Format.
In the Modern Format, I finished the season in 52nd place on the Gold Leaderboard with a rating of 2420, 397 battles played, and a win rate of 46.85%.
For this ranking, I received a prize of 12,500 GLINT.
It was a season of ups and downs because it started off great but ended with a sharp decline in my game results.
In fact, just six days ago, I had reached the Diamond III league.
But in the last five days of the season, I slipped into the Gold II league and was unable to climb back up.
If I want to improve my game results, I need to improve my battle management and, above all, I need to avoid losing battles due to time limits.
My main problem is the limited free time I have available, which I have to divide between the games I play.
In fact, I play some games in multitasking mode.
I often combine Splinterlands with Moon Karts and Golem Overlord:
- I click Battle on Splinterlands and while I wait for an opponent, I also start a battle on Golem Overlord Conquest Mode.
- After selecting the battle formation and clicking on Splinterlands, I go to Moon Karts and launch matchmaking.
- I play Moon Karts, and when the race is over, I go to Golem Overlord and select the Golems to send into battle.
- I go back to Splinterlands, see the outcome of the battle, and start another one, repeating the cycle.
If I played only one game at a time, I would probably have better results, but that's okay because I'm having fun anyway.
To improve my win rate in the Modern Format, I would like to rent a third top-level archon, but the rental prices for the archons I like best are too high and would eat into a significant portion of my seasonal earnings.
In fact, in the Modern Format, I only have three top-level archons:
- Akane (owned by me)
- Nomos (rented)
- Avina of the Wolf (rented)
I'm undecided whether to try renting an archon for a season between Reklah, Underboss Fabino, and Prophet Rosa or not.
I'll think about it some more.
As for game rewards, in season 169 I earned a total of 897.69 SPS thanks to my victories in Modern Format battles.
My gaming activity in the Modern Format is my main source of SPS token growth:
- Ranked Rewards: +897.69 SPS
- Staking Rewards: +359.30 SPS
- Brawl Rewards: +36.11 SPS
My seasonal Rental Report is back in the black after several seasons in the red: +2287.75 DEC (previous season: -295.278 DEC).
If I could find a top-level Archon at a cost of 53 DEC per day, that would be ideal for me because I would have more strength in battle with a balanced budget between cards rented and cards given out on loan.
As for the Weekly Fortune Draws recently introduced in the Modern Format, I participated twice out of two but was unlucky.
Today I bought my third Fortune Pass in the hope that sooner or later luck will decide to smile on me :)
My season in the Modern Format wasn't one of my best in terms of game results, but my season in Frontier Format was very positive.
In the Frontier Format, my goal for the season was to improve on the results I had achieved in the previous season.
In Frontier Format, I finished the season in the Gold I league, ranked 459th on the Gold Leaderboard with a rating = 2680.
I finished the previous season in 684th place in the Gold Leaderboard with a rating = 2680, so goal achieved!
These results are the fruit of Foundation card upgrades and, in particular, my recent upgrade of Aurelia from level 2 to level 3, which allowed me to use unit cards with better stats in battle.

On October 21, the new Reward Cards (Conclave Arcana) were released.

During the previous season, I started buying Rarity Draws, starting with Common Draws.
Initially, I will alternate between purchasing Common Draws and Rare Draws, then focus on Epic draws before moving on to Legendary Draws.
Thanks to my in-game and seasonal rewards in GLINT, today I used:
- 90,000 GLINT to purchase 300 Common Draws.
- 18,000 GLINT to purchase 12 Rare Draws

Out of 300 Common Draws opened, I found 3 Gold Foil cards.
In the next image, you can see the cards I found in the 12 Rare Draws.
Regular Foil cards are Soulbound, while Gold Foil cards are immediately transferable or sellable.
I put the three gold cards I found today up for sale with the aim of buying other cards.
With the cards I found in the 300 Common Draws, I was able to upgrade all 12 common Conclave Arcana Reward cards.
The level of these cards is still too low to be useful in the Modern Format, but there are already some cards I could use.
For example, Husk Of The Hunter is a particularly useful card starting at level 3 because it gains the Headwinds ability, which is very advantageous in battles with the Going the Distance ruleset.
In battles with little mana available, Ironwing Juggernaut is a valid choice, but only from level 3 onwards, because at level three it acquires the Charge ability and can attack from any position.
Just today, I used a level 4 Ironwing Juggernaut in a battle with 23 mana available.
The level 4 Ironwing Juggernaut was not the key to victory in battle, but it was useful and contributed to the final victory.
My goals for season 170
My new goals for the season 170 will be:
- to finish the season in Diamond III in the Modern Format
- to improve my game results (rating and win rate) in the Frontier Format
- play at least one tournament

Splinterlands è stato il primo gioco basato su blockchain a cui mi sono appassionato e ha dato il via al mio interesse verso i giochi web3 e in particolare verso i giochi basati sull'ecosistema di Hive.
Dal 2019 a oggi ho provato diversi giochi ma pochi sono ancora attivi e in costante aggiornamento.
In questa stretta cerchia di giochi vivi dopo diversi anni c'è Splinterlands nel quale, da poche ore, è terminata la stagione 169 ed è in corso la stagione 170.
In questo post condivido:
- i miei risultati nella stagione 169
- l'upgrade delle mie carte con l'obiettivo di migliorare i miei risultati di gioco
- i miei obiettivi per la stagione 170 (la stagione attualmente in corso)
I miei risultati nella stagione 169
Nella stagione da poco conclusa, la stagione 169, ho giocato nei miei due formati preferiti: nel Modern Format e nel Frontier Format.
Nel Modern Format ho concluso la stagione al 52° posto nella Gold Leaderboard con un punteggio di rating = 2420, 397 battaglie giocate e un win rate = 46.85%.
Per questo piazzamento in classifica ho ricevuto un premio di 12500 GLINT.
E' stata una stagione di alti e bassi perchè è iniziata nel migliore dei modi ma è finita con un netto peggioramento dei miei risultati di gioco.
Infatti solo sei giorni fa ero arrivato nella lega Diamond III.
Ma negli ultimi cinque giorni della stagione sono scivolato nella lega Gold II senza riuscire più a risalire.
Se voglio migliorare i miei risultati di gioco devo migliorare la gestione delle battaglie e soprattutto devo evitare di perdere battaglie per scadenza del tempo.
Il mio problema è principalmente il poco tempo libero che ho a disposizione che va diviso tra i giochi a cui gioco.
Infatti alcuni giochi li gioco in multitasking.
Splinterlands lo abbino spesso a Moon Karts e a Golem Overlord:
- Clicco Battle su Splinterlands e mentre aspetto un avversario inizio una battaglia anche su Golem Overlord Conquest Mode.
- Dopo aver selezionato la formazione della battaglia e cliccato su Splinterlands vado su Moon Karts e lancio il matchmaking.
- Gioco su Moon Karts e quando finisce la corsa vado su Golem Overlord e seleziono i Golems da mandare in battaglia.
- torno su Splinterlands, vedo l'esito della battaglia e ne inizio un'altra ripetendo il ciclo.
Se giocassi ad un solo gioco per volta avrei probabilmente dei risultati migliori ma va bene così perchè comunque mi diverto.
Per migliorare il mio win rate nel Modern Format mi piacerebbe noleggiare un terzo archon di massimo livello ma i prezzi di noleggio degli archons che mi piacciono di più sono troppo alti e mangerebbero una parte importante del mio guadagno stagionale.
Infatti nel Modern Format ho solo tre archon di massimo livello:
- Akane (di mia proprietà)
- Nomos (noleggiato)
- Avina of the Wolf (noleggiato)
Sono indeciso se provare a noleggiare per una stagione un archon tra Reklah, Underboss Fabino e Prophet Rosa oppure no.
Ci penso ancora un pò.
Per quanto riguarda le ricompense di gioco, nella stagione 169 ho guadagnato in totale 897.69 SPS grazie alle vittorie in battaglia nel Modern Format.
La mia attività di gioco nel Modern Format è la mia principale fonte di incremento per i token SPS:
- Ranked Rewards: +897.69 SPS
- Staking Rewards: +359.30 SPS
- Brawl Rewards: +36.11 SPS
Il mio Rental Report stagionale è tornato positivo dopo diverse stagioni in cui è stato negativo: +2287.75 DEC (precedente stagione: -295.278 DEC).
Se trovassi un archon di massimo livello ad un costo di 53 DEC al giorno sarebbe l'ideale per me perchè avrei più forza in battaglia con un bilancio in pari tra carte prese in noleggio e carte date in noleggio.
Per quanto riguarda i Weekly Fortune Draws introdotti di recente nel Modern Format ho partecipato due volte su due ma non sono stato fortunato.
Oggi ho acquistato il mio terzo Fortune Pass nella speranza che prima o poi la fortuna decida di baciarmi :)
La mia stagione nel Modern Format non è stata tra le migliori dal punto di vista dei risultati di gioco ma la mia stagione nel Frontier Mode è stata molto positiva.
Nel Frontier Format il mio obiettivo stagionale era di migliorare i risultati che avevo ottenuto nella stagione precedente.
Nel Frontier Format ho concluso la stagione nella lega Gold I, al 459° posto nella Gold Leaderboard con un punteggio di rating = 2680.
Ho concluso la stagione precedente al 684° posto della Gold Leaderboard con un rating = 2680 e quindi obiettivo raggiunto!
Questi risultati sono il frutto degli upgrades delle carte Foundation e in particolare del mio recente upgrade di Aurelia dal livello 2 al livello 3 che mi ha permesso di usare in battaglia carte unità con statistiche migliori.
I miei progressi nel potenziamento delle carte
Il 21 ottobre c'è stato il rilascio delle nuove Reward Cards (Conclave Arcana).

Durante la stagione precedente ho iniziato ad acquistare i Rarity Draws partendo dai Common Draws.
Inizialmente alternerò l'acquisto di Common Draws e Rare Draws per poi focalizzarmi sugli Epic draws prima di passare ai Legendary Draws.
Grazie alle mie ricompense di gioco e stagionali in GLINT oggi ho utilizzato:
- 90000 GLINT per acquistare 300 Common Draw.
- 18000 GLINT per acquistare 12 Rare Draw

Su 300 Common Draw aperti ho trovato 3 carte Gold Foil.
Nella prossima immagine puoi vedere le carte che ho trovato nei 12 Rare Draws.
Le carte Regular Foil sono Soulbound mentre le carte Gold Foil sono immediatamente trasferibili o vendibili.
Ho messo in vendita le tre carte gold che ho trovato oggi con l'obiettivo di acquistare altre carte.
Con le carte che ho trovato nei 300 Common Draw ho potuto fare l'upgrade di tutte le 12 Conclave Arcana Reward cards di tipo comune.
Il livello di queste carte è ancora basso per essermi utili nel Modern Format ma ci sono già alcune carte che potrei utilizzare.
Ad esempio Husk Of The Hunter è una carta particolarmente utile già a partire dal livello 3 perchè acquisisce l'abilità Headwinds, molto vantaggiosa nelle battaglie con la ruleset Going the Distance.
Nelle battaglie con pochi mana a disposizione Ironwing Juggernaut è una valida scelta ma solo dal livello 3 in poi perchè al livello tre acquisisce l'abilità Charge e può attaccare da qualsiasi posizone.
Proprio oggi ho utilizzato Ironwing Juggernaut di livello 4 in una battaglia con 23 mana disponibili.
Ironwing Juggernaut di livello 4 non è stato la chiave della vittoria in battaglia ma è stato utile e ha contribuito alla vittoria finale.
I miei obiettivi per la stagione 170
I miei nuovi obiettivi stagionali saranno:
- terminare la stagione nella lega Diamond III nel Modern Format
- migliorare i risultati di gioco (rating e win rate) nel Frontier Format
- giocare almeno un torneo
