Chasing Shadows Along the Streets of Baguio City
8 comments
While recording a video after I disembark from the bus along Gov. Pack Road, one fair morning in Baguio City,an idea came out from my mind when I saw my shadow casted on the pavement along with passersby crossing the street on a pedestrian lane partly shaded by the shadow of a pine tree.
Then as I walked along Session Road, a mini-bus (which some are claiming that this type of vehicle is the replacement to Philippine jeepneys and worst, other call it as the "new jeepney," though their appearance are far different from the Philippine jeepneys as the former is an imported vehicle while the latter are locally made.) passed by creating a lovely shadow on the pavement as it cruises past the pine tree sculpture on the center island.
Still on the same street, a taxicab followed with the details of its curves nicely embed in its shadow.
Followed by an ever-reliable Mitsubishi Pajero with its sleek design.
Aside from the passing vehicles, these plastic orange barriers casted an eye-catching shadow on the pavement.
Then I passed by infront of the gate of Baguio cathedral along Fr. Carly Street of which I also noted the shadows of these churchgoers as they left the place.
The shadow of a flower vendor also caught my attention as she offers garlands to the churchgoers.
And on the nearby Post Office Loop, the shadow of these two vehicles did not escaped my lens.
Then I went further to Upper Session Road of which I saw this Mahindra vehicle passed by.
As well as pickup truck and a motorcycle passed in front of the National Bureau of Investigation complex.
And the shadow of trees at the vicinity of the Post Office park.
Further to Leonard Wood Road, the boxed shaped shadow of a mini-bus caught my attention.
Then my feet brought me to Gen. Luna Road where the University of Baguio is situated of which I took a photograph of the shadow of the guard manning the entrance.
I temporarily ceased my shadow hunting spree as it rained from late in the morning until afternoon.
Then I returned to Session Road for some evening walk and to resume my shadow hunting of which I took a few snaps along the sidewalk which are bustling with passersby.
Then I reached SM Baguio and took a picture of its facade and its shadow nearly dominated the entire front lawn of the structure.
I walked until I reached the rear side and resumed my shadow hunting of which this is what I can consider as my best shot in that place.
Then my feet brought me to Upper Session Road of which I took a shot of a passing jeepney, the primary mode of transportation that plies every street in the Philippines of which I have said earlier that this type of vehicle is on the brink of extinction due to introduction of another means of transportation and that is the mini-buses from other countries.
This is my humble entry to Shadow Hunters contest by Ms. @melinda010100. Thanks for reading and good day to everyone!
