Shadow and Bone: I won't be streaming the second season of this tvshow.

 
This show, Shadow and Bone, is a clear reminder that literary appreciation is subjective. The show is rated 7.8/10 in IMBD and 88% in Rottentomatoes.

It's funny to see such because I've seen better Shows with very poor ratings, but let's not also forget that I've seen worse shows with higher ratings than that.

The big question is; how would I rate this show?

 
5/10 would be the best rating I can give this show. It's a fairly uninspiring show with so many things that were boring in itself and it's very funny to see that they tried to end the first season with a cliffhanger.

What's that about?

Who would ever want to watch another season of that?

Seriously, there are times when I watch a tv show and I'm left wondering why it got a rating that does not reflect the true quality of the show. If you are one of those that ask such questions, the answer is that different people have different things that appeal to them.

For me, this show is a no-no. I couldn't connect with the characters, especially the female lead character. Her choices were distasteful (the scriptwriter is to be blamed for that) and her acting was a complete turn-off. Even General Kerrigan, who was the Villain of the show didn't have the diabolical spark I enjoy seeing in Villains.

It would have been forgivable if the issue was just from the characters, but the storyline and overall plot were also not fascinating to me. The action sequence was neither entertaining nor realistic. In addition to that, the dark scenes in the show felt off for some reason.

I wish I noticed this from the plot synopsis before watching the show. The plot synopsis I saw on Netflix tipped this as an interesting fantasy show. I also checked the trailer and it was fairly inspiring.

But the show itself was just not good enough for me. Nonetheless, if you check the comment section of that trailer on YouTube, you will notice that so many people enjoyed the show and they are anticipating the next season. Haha. Wow!

I hope they get to enjoy what comes next. For me, I'm jumping off this Shadow and Bone ship.
