Yesterday I felt the urge to fall back into the grand space adventure that's offered in No Man's Sky.

Of course, me being me, I had to start up a new savefile. I really wish I wasn't like this. That I could just jump back into an old save and continue on, but I feel completely lost when I do. I would like this save to become a save I could keep going back to, if possible... but we'll see how I fare.

Mostly I wanted something nice and relaxing to chill out to and No Man's Sky fits the bill perfectly. (when you're not harrassing the sentinels and weird alien egg creatures, anyway)

By some miracle, my new character spawned in a system that had a paradise planet in it!

Normally I'd start in a crappy system full of radiation and fire, and we're forced to build a base in the first system to be able to unlock your hyperdrive, and then we're forced to keep going back to that base for the later base-building quests because the game thinks that's where you actually want to be and makes all the NPCs you collect want to go there.

So I was quite pleased to find a Paradise planet in my first system. I'll be quite happy to send various NPCs here and not fight with them to get them onto a future planet.

It would be nice if there was an option on the base computer's to set as "preferred" base or something so that the game would utilise your preferred one for the quest system.

Minor whinging aside... I have a paradise planet straight off the bat! I plan on making lots of bases, of course, on all types of planets, but it's really nice to have a pretty planet with glowing trees and lots of fresh water for aesthetics.

Plus a nearby planet has salt, so guess who'll be making a salt farm for very early profits! xD

Normally I'd just make a crappy base then go jumping from system to system, but I actually want to stay in my starter system for a while. That's different!

There have been a couple of updates since I last played and one of the first things I've noticed is that they've improved the build menu and the appearance of wooden structures. I remember wooden structures looking all decrepit and rickety, but now they look sleek and worthy of being used instead of just using the typical metal and glass sci-fi looking structures.

I then remembered that in order to get a salt farm up and running in my starter system, I'd need to buy the blueprints from the Anomaly. And to get to the Anomaly I needed to follow the main missions a little more. Bluh bluh blugh.

Grand ambitions halted for the time being, I continued the main missions. Soon found the Anomaly. And realised I would have to find soooooooo many data modules before I could learn how to make my salt farm.

But that's okay.

I have a goal to work towards! 😃

Until next time!! ⭐️🚀
