🍲 Sopa criolla and Huallpa Chupe in the Siete Sopas Restaurant

Last Friday I went out to treat myself and eat a good Creole soup in one of the best restaurants in Lima - Peru, the "Siete Sopas".
Este último viernes salí a darme un gusto y comer una buena sopa criolla en uno de los mejores restaurantes de Lima – Perú, el “Siete sopas”.
A couple of days before I had been craving to go to this restaurant, because in a very popular cooking show here in Peru called "El Gran Chef Famosos" they prepared "chambar", a delicious soup from the city of Trujillo. The soup looked so good that I decided to go to Siete Sopas (so called because they prepare a different soup for each day of the week) to get rid of the craving, but I had to wait until Monday to eat it, since that is the only day they cook that soup in that restaurant.
Un par de días antes ya se me había antojado ir a ese restaurante, pues en un programa de cocina muy popular aquí en Perú llamado “El Gran Chef Famosos” prepararon “chambar”, una sopa riquísima proveniente de la ciudad de Trujillo. La sopa se veía tan buena que decidí ir al Siete Sopas (llamado así porque prepara una sopa diferente por cada día de la semana) a quitarme las ganas, pero tenía que esperar hasta el día lunes para poder ir a comerla, pues es el único día que se cocina esa sopa en dicho restaurante.
However, hunger got the better of me and I decided to go to Siete Sopas much earlier than planned, on a Friday, when the dish of the day was "Huallpa Chupe", typical of the city of Huancayo. I didn't know this soup and didn't want to risk trying it, so I ordered a classic soup from the restaurant called "sopa criolla", accompanied by some delicious complimentary garlic bread. My companion did dare to order a Huallpa Chupe and, in addition, a delicious grilled chicken with an Inka Kola soda.
Sin embargo, el hambre pudo más y decidí ir al Siete Sopas mucho antes de lo previsto, un día viernes, cuando el plato del día era “Huallpa Chupe”, típico de la ciudad de Huancayo. No conocía esa sopa y no quería arriesgarme a probarla, así que pedí una sopa clásica del restaurante llamada “sopa criolla”, acompañada de unos riquísimos panes al ajo de cortesía. Mi acompañante sí se animó a pedir un Huallpa Chupe y, además, un rico pollo a la brasa con una gaseosa Inka Kola.
I was surprised by how much the Sopa criolla and the Huallpa Chupe look alike, at least at first glance, as they both have almost the same color and texture. However, the most notable difference is the egg that stands out in the middle of the Sopa criolla.
Me sorprendió lo mucho que se parecen la Sopa criolla y el Huallpa Chupe, al menos a simple vista, pues las dos tienen casi el mismo color y textura. Sin embrago, la diferencia más notable es el huevo que resalta en medio de la Sopa criolla.
What also caught my attention was the meticulousness with which the restaurant's chefs and waiters worked. Watching from my table, I could see the semi-open kitchen, where the chefs moved with astonishing precision and speed. Every now and then, a steaming dish would emerge from that kitchen, accompanied by a smiling waiter who made sure to serve it with the utmost attention. You could tell that at "Siete Sopas", the passion for food was matched only by the commitment to provide an unforgettable experience for every customer.
Lo que también captó mi atención fue la meticulosidad con la que los chefs y meseros del restaurante trabajaban. Observando desde mi mesa, podía ver la cocina semiabierta, donde los chefs se movían con una precisión y rapidez asombrosas. A cada rato, salía un plato humeante de esa cocina, acompañado de un mesero sonriente que se aseguraba de servirlo con la máxima atención. Se notaba que en "Siete Sopas", la pasión por la comida era igualada solo por el compromiso de brindar una experiencia inolvidable a cada cliente.
We were definitely satisfied with everything we ate and there was even leftover grilled chicken (obviously I took it home with me hahaha). I promise I will be back soon to eat the delicious "chambar".
Definitivamente quedamos satisfechos con todo lo que comimos e incluso sobró pollo a la brasa (obviamente me lo lleve para casa jajajaja). Prometo que próximamente volveré para comer, ahora sí, el riquísimo “chambar”.
