The Trap Of All Traps

We're coming to the end of our #kingdomproverbs series with a handful of verses yet to go over....
This has been such a rewarding experience for me personally as it's allowed me to open up my favoite book in the #bible which is Proverbs. One of the reasons I love this book so much is that it's not too 'preachy'. When some of agnostic and atheist friends ask me about Scripture and why I love God so much, I usually tell them to check out Proverbs. It's what I love to call the greatest personal development book in history!
A biblical 'art of war' per se! And there is so many amazing things to learn within it's pages. So as we are winding down this series, expect more Proverbs posts in the future. It's a pretty cool little book that was written around 3000 years ago :)
Anywho.....
What's the verse of the day for the graphic...

Oh boy....
This is a hard one for men around the world. I'm sure women deal with it just as much, but I can tell you from personal experience, this one can be absolutely deadly.
Here's what the King James Version reads:

Avoid. Sensual. Traps.
This is one of the first verses that I have seen that ties in directly with God's 10 commandment. And that's the seventh found in Exodus 20. Do not commit adultery. So yeah, while the Proverbs man or woman might not be married, this can still lead to the destruction of your soul because....Not only does it create lust in the heart, but it kind of sort of breaks another commandment of God's.....Lust can create an idol.
And I'm not sure if you have been paying attention to the world these days but...Sex sells. Fornication, adultery, nudity, lust...These things are actually celebrated in the world we live in. And I'm not even going to talk to those that are actually in the world...I'm talking to people of faith!
This is a huge sin problem within the Christian community, and it does so much damage. From ruined marriages, to broken families, the list goes on and on.
Here is King Solomon a guy who had a wee bit of a lust problem, almost prophesying of his sinful life and warning us that even the kings of the world, fall victim to the sensual traps.
The remedy?
Philippians 4:8 for me...

Think on these things.....
Combine this scripture with a strong prayer life and you can find victory over this sin.
It's an uphill battle, and the world is designed for us to lust after the eyes....But we know how to conquer this!
It's within the pages of Scripture!
