The first leg of my Western Canadian trip is coming to a close...

2 days and 3 provinces later, I'm now at a hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba!

The trip started out late Saturday night and I got as far as High River, Alberta. Sunday morning was an absolutely perfect day to drive....

I started out going south on Highway 2 ands drove along the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies. The first picture, is close to Fort McCleod, Alberta with some impressive snop cappped mountains in the distance.

I love the Rockies.

There is something truly magical about this part of the country and I enjoyed every second of the drive. As you can see, the weather was perfect, plenty of sunshine and it was even above freezing lol

Hey that's a win in the winter here ;)

But then came....The prairies.

And I'm sure some people will find beauty in them, but I've lived here so long, flat terrain is kind of boring.

But as you can see, there were plenty of windmills to capture the crazy gusts that come off the Rocky Mountains.

But then it was...Flat. For a long time...

I ended up in Regina, Saskatchewan on Sunday night, and got a super early start to the day today.

I crossed over into Manitoba around 10am this morning, and took a quick shot of the 'welcome to Manitoba' sign....Nothing too impressive. The biggest complaint I had was the awful roads in Saskatchewan. They are really rough...And I followed the Trans-Canada highway through the entire province....You would think the government there would put some money towards fixing the roads but alas...

Settling down for a quiet night in the hotel....Up early again to start heading to Northern Manitoba next.

Here's to the next adventure on the road :)
