Legalizing Medical Marijuana Could Free Up Federal Medicaid Dollars, American Samoa Official Says
The “idea was legalizing medicinal marijuana and then using 100 percent of those taxes for medical, but I know that can be a controversial issue and, again, that is a decision for the legislature,” she said at a recent House Health Committee hearing, according to Samoa News. “Otherwise I don’t really know where else we can create new money.”

Until a source of local funding ca be found, the $US84 million the US Congress approved for the territory cannot be used.
American Samoa has to come up with a match of about $30 million.

Brazilian plan for legal cultivation of industrial hemp, MMJ moving ahead as nation battles pandemic
Draft legislation that would allow Brazilian farmers to grow cannabis for medical and industrial purposes on domestic soil for the first time has been submitted to the country’s lower house of Congress.
The bill was delivered to the House of Deputies speaker this week by lawmakers Paulo Teixeira and Luciano Ducci, co-sponsors of the bill who sit on the chamber’s special commission for the regulation of medicinal cannabis.
