Touring the Universe in No Man's Sky

A brief history of NMS
No Man's Sky is a procedurally generated space exploration and building game. It started off with a lot of hype, flopped horribly upon release, then built its reputation back over several years. I'll link an amazing documentary about it at the end of this post.
I put several hours (read: hundreds)
into the game about a year ago, and came across some of my old screenshots of interesting vistas or bases I built. The photo above is actually my desktop background. 🚀
I hope you enjoy this virtual space tourism.
🌞 Main base in the daytime
The cover photo shows my main base in the morning, from behind and above. Here it is from a more intimate angle.
Every piece of the building was placed "by hand" — it's like virtual Lego in a way. I just checked my Steam account and yeah, there were just over 200 hours logged last summer with this game. 😅
⛰️ Strange vistas
There is so much alien weirdness to find in the game. You can go casually exploring for hours.
That bright ball on the right is actually an alien.
👾 Alien structures
You can find them on the surface and go inside. There are often goodies... sometimes hazards.
Or you can find them floating in space. I wish I had kept more screenshots of my ship!
And sometimes, you become the alien structures' neighbour! I found this giant wheel thing and built part of a base right on the side of it (you can see the roofed structure on the left). Ooh, my ship is actually in this one too, on the left 😄

Thanks for having a look and going down memory lane with me!
