Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Sand Worm.

Weirding Warrior is a death monster that costs 2 mana. It starts with shatter. It learns amplify at level 4 and rust at level 6. I use this card quite often because it has a low mana cost. On top of that, shatter is just a great ability to have when you focus down monsters.

The ruleset this time is Blood & Sunder, Weak Magic, and Aimless. This means melee monsters gain the scattershot and corrosive wardability. Also, magic monsters will damage armor first. There is also 17 mana available, and I can use any fire, death, or dragon splinter.

I use Thaddius Brood| as my summoner for the -1 health and magic. Cursed Windeku is my tank with heal and thorns. I have a backup filler tank after. Then I have 2 sneak monsters, and one of them has poison. I have Weirding Warrior after that and a filler monster in the last spot.

At first glance, I think that this match is to my advantage, but I could still lose if my backline dies from that Lava Launcher. If I can land shatter or poison on that monster, then this match shouldn't be that bad.

I lost one monster, but I landed both the shatter and poison on that lava launcher. This means that there is no chance for my opponent to win. My tank, Cursed Windeku, won't die before that poison kills off that lava launcher.

I ended up winning this match a few rounds later, just as I expected. My opponent's last monster ended up being the martyr monster so that worked out to my advantage.

Conclusion

The battle this time played out exactly how I thought it would. There was a low mana cap, so I focused more on a good tank and low mana cards in the back. The poison from Uraeus, and shatter from Weirding Warrior ended up being my best damage dealers. It allowed me to take out the most dangerous monster in the back, and when the martyr monster ended up being the last monster, it became an easy win. The shatter removed the armor, and it allowed my sneak monsters to deal damage to the most threatening monster. Once that Lava Launcher died, there wasn't much my opponent could do.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
