What's Christmas Got To Do With It?

I thought you'd like this on the first of May ! LOL....for real though, I am still cleaning out stuff and the rest of the photos on my post are salt dough ornaments I made the Christmas I made my tree a Suess Tree.
I left the bottom few rows off of my big artificial tree and made some silly ornaments to put on it. I also used some other shiny ornaments and I'm not sure you can tell that good, but the light strings were alternating solid red lights and solid white light strings....striped! I made the silly topper out of peppermint candy picks. I actually enjoyed the tree that year. I believe it was around 2012.
Anyway... I am showing it because as I continue to clean out my hoard of things, I came across my two tins of Salt Dough ornaments I made that year for my Suess Tree.
These are Christmas ornaments you say???... (as you scratch your head). Yes, yes.. they are, but probably only in Jacey's world.
😄
I only used most of them that one year, although I might have used several of my favs on a normal tree the year after, but mostly, just like the tea set, they have been stored in plastic bags in some Christmas tins.
I found out years ago if you don't keep them really air tight in storage, they will eventually get soft. A couple of these were finally trying to do that and were lightly stuck together.
I used cookie cutters for these. The odd rectangle shapes were because these cutters had two cutters each and when you made them like they were supposed to be, you slid two together and they stood up and made 3-D cookies. I just used one on these and called them "limb sitters" and I just hooked them over top of the fatter parts of a limb. It actually worked well.
I made this one a 3 tier ornament. Cute... yes?
A few smaller ones. The one with the loop didn't need an additional hanger.
..... and some I painted red!
Alas, just a few minutes ago, I went through them, gave them a photo shoot and now they are in the trash bin.
