Artsy Photo... And Junk Mail Painted To Use For Collage Paper

Happy Friday.... again. Funny how this happens every week !
Just dashing in before I get my hands all painty.
Although I have thought of it before, I have not been painting up my junk mail to use for collage papers. I saw another artist on youtube and they were talking about all the things you could use for collage papers that you don't have to pay for and once again it included junk mail.
It just so happened I had a few pieces that had not landed in the trash yet, so last night I decided I'd just paint them up.
I decided to do them by hand and not get out my gel plate. I have a container that has things in it that I can use to make different shapes of marks in the paint. Some time back one artist used some legos. I didn't have legos, although I do have a vintage set of blocks that existed before lego, their knobbies aren't as deep and I kinda didn't want to mess them up with paint. It was one of those things I was just going to think about a while before I decided. Anyway, last week I was in Dollar Tree and lo and behold, there on the rack was a packet of knock-off legos for $1.25. Problem solved! Now my vintage ones will not fall victim to the paint. 😄
Of course after I had plopped one around in sevearl colors of paint, my artsy eye thought it was quite beautiful in it's colorful messiness and so I took this photo for you to see.
This was a big piece of paper that was an insert for some medication. Can you believe that?? Although I do like to study a med before I venture to take it, there is no way I'm reading all the teeny tiny print on the flyers. Anyway, it made some very fine painty paper.
I know I say this every time I show any collage paper, the neat thing about these is that they get torn up, so if some areas are pretty and some are not, I can tear off the parts I like and use the parts I don't as background layers.
See the yellow shapes in the upper left corner? I made those with an Easter Egg holder that comes with the egg dye. I haven't dyed eggs in years, but when I was cleaning out the Easter bin in my current attempt to rid my house of all stored things I no longer use, it almost went into the trash before I said to myself "HEYYYYYYY..... I could use this in my paints!" Yes, I talk to myself all the time! I liked the shapes it made.
Here you can see the obvious shape of the lego imposter. I got a little carried away in the middle, but some of the outlying areas will look pretty good in a future creation.
This one has some pretty bits too.... pretty.... pretty messy! ha I left the lower right corner dark on purpose. It has multiple layers and sometimes you need dark areas for contrast.
I made a whole page of this design, but from up above the whole piece, you could not see all the marks in the paint that good, so I just cropped out a piece to show.
