My 2 Must Achieve Goals This Year

Goal setting is an important aspect of one's life. It gives direction in pursuance of one's dreams. Living life in absence of setting goals is like sailing without a compass, or one who is driven by the wind. No proper direction, any route goes.

Every new year comes with new goals and plans to achieving them, this year is not an exception. For goals to be actualized it should be backed up with intentional action and workable plans. Some goals that were not achieved weren't because they were too high, but could be as a result of action not aligning with the set goals and purpose.

I have so many goals I set for myself this year but for the purpose of this prompt, I'll talk about two. The first goal I want to achieve this year is to raise money and start up a poultry farm. Aside from being a lucrative business, it requires money to build the pen, especially getting the feed and medications.

My plan on how to achieve this, is to start keeping some portions of my weekly earnings from my online business, in a piggy bank for 6 months (Jan- Jun). While I also embark on a 3 month training on how to care for birds. I want to start small at the moment and then advance as business improves.

The second goal I want to achieve this year is on personal development. Physical or financial growth without personal growth is like building a house of cards, which crashes in no time. As humans it is important we keep improving to be better than we were yesterday. That's one of my goals this year, to be better than I was yesterday, precisely, learn a new skill.

Saying it without an action plan is just a mere wish, so my plan is to enroll in some programs and read books to that effect, which takes effect this January. In fact, I attended the first training yesterday being January 13th, to tell you how important it is to me. The next training would be by the end of the month, before then, I'll continue with reading books.

The new year starts with new goals. Setting goals is one thing, putting in the sacrifice needed to actualize them is another. It takes a focused, determined and persevered mindset to achieve them.
