I am writing unsolicited reviews of HIVE related sites on Internet Rivers. For today's review I thought I would take a look waivio.com . This tribe supplements HIVE rewards with the WAIV Token .

This interface appears to be based on Waivio Code on Github which which appears to have been written from the ground up for something called STEEM ... whatever that is.

This is my first post written with Waivio. The site uses a WYSIWYG editor to produce the markdown for a post; So, there is a small learning curve. It appears that Waivio uses the term "object" for tags and communities. The account for the Review the World Community is hive-173119 . I searched for the related object. If things go correctly, the post will appear in said community.

To post a picture, one has to use the object insertion tool. The pictures for this post are of the exterior of Tres Hombres Restaurant i in Millcreek, Utah. One can upload the photos. Since these photos are already online, I used the photolink option. Tres Hombres did an excellent job painting the exterior of their restaurants, did they not?

Waivio has some cool. Apparently, one can display the rewards in one's local currency. The site includes an advanced portfolio and user settings. I chose to switch to the dark theme.

Logging in Google Accounts and Facebook

One of the most exciting features of Waivio is that the site lets people log into the site with their Google or Facebook accounts. When one logs into Waivio with Google, the program creates a pseudo account for the user.

The user is then able to drop comments on posts with the @guest09 account. Allowing people to log in with their Facebook or Google account is one of the most exciting features of Waivio.

If you want to share your posts with people outside; you might consider sharing the Waivio version as the people who read your posts will be able to leave comments.

While I think everyone should have a HIVE account, this feature is a great introduction to the platform. Folks who log in with Google will see all of the great things happening in the Hive-sphere and will likely decide to join the community after a spell.

IMHO, it is far better to introduce people to HIVE with a pseudo version of their Google Account than to let them flounder about with a new HIVE account. HIVE has simply lost too many potential customers because of the pitfalls associated with new HIVE accounts.

Spaminator is Downvoting Guest09

Allowing people to drop comments with one's Google account opens the possibility of spam. HiveBlocks shows the activity of Guest09. It appears that @spaminator has decided to downvote Guest09 into oblivion.

While I hate spam. I dislike when #hivewatchers stands in the way of innovation.

Allowing comments from the billions of people who use Facebook and Google is one of the greatest innovations that I have seen on HIVE. I don't want this innovation destroyed destroyed by @spaminator.

I think that there are better ways to handle the spam that pseudo logins will generate.

Since the pseudo accounts from Google are trackable, Waivio could simply limit the number of comments made by each pseudo account. Waivio might have a feature that lets @hivewatchers block specific google and facebook accounts after they spam. Because the pseudo accounts are handled outside the main blockchain, it might be easier to handle the spam from the pseudo accounts.

@guest09 might get some upvotes. The rewards for the upvotes should be dropped in an rewards fund or simply burned. If @guest09 took to incinerating HIVE and other alt-tokens; then @guest09 would be a great boon for all of HIVE as it would reduce the float.

Having @guest09 burn the rewards would have a greater impact than downvoting the account.

I think that @guest09 is one of the best innovations that I have seen on HIVE this year. The idea that we have to block all pseudo accounts because some pseudo accounts might spam is absolutely absurd. Look at the guest09 comments. Waivio clearly marks the source of each pseudo comment. Since the commenter does not receive the rewards, then there is no need to downvote the account.

The ability to share posts with people outside the HIVE bubble is so fantastic that I am unable to think clearly about the some of the other cool things that appear in the Waivio system like the ability to create additonal web sites with the code.
