  And although I have no certainty that these stained glass windows that I show have been made with recycled glass by the age of his confection, enjoy them reminded me of all the art that can come out of this process so healing for the health of our planet. Undoubtedly, as I read somewhere: it is possible to find life after life. It is known that stained glass windows appeared in Cuba from the eighteenth century, and were gradually incorporated into the national architecture as a distinctive element that sought to isolate the sun from the covered places. One of the characteristics of these stained glass windows is the combination of bright colors, which creates incredible figures when the light is reflected, and allows the creator to play with the variety of shapes. Cuba has the privilege of having the largest number of the best preserved stained glass windows in the Caribbean, and events have even been organized jointly with the faculties of architecture of other universities in the area to study their peculiarities.

Y aunque no tengo la certeza de que estos vitrales que muestro se hayan elaborado con vidrio reciclado por la antigüedad de su confección, disfrutar de ellos me recordó todo el arte que puede salir de este proceso tan sanador para la salud de nuestro planeta. Sin dudas, como leí en algún sitio: es posible encontrar vida después de la vida.
Se tiene información que los vitrales aparecieron en Cuba a partir del siglo XVIII, y se incorporaron de forma paulatina a la arquitectura nacional como un elemento distintivo que buscaba aislar el sol de los lugares cubiertos.
Uno de las características de estos vitrales son la combinación de colores vivos, lo que permite crear figuras increíbles cuando se refleja la luz, y posibilitan al creador jugar con la variedad de formas. Cuba tiene el privilegio de contar con la mayor cantidad de vitrales mejor conservados de todo el Caribe, e incluso se han organizado eventos de conjunto con las facultades de arquitectura de otras universidades del área para estudiar sus peculiaridades.
 

I photographed these stained glass windows on a second visit to the Museum of Colonial Art, and in my opinion, they are part of our material heritage, because it is incredible the variety and beauty that we can observe walking through the streets of Havana. Especially in Old Havana, which is a perfect blend of antiquity and modernity. Most of these are semicircular, although in accordance with the type of curve they are also half ellipse, horseshoe or acute.
One of the most fascinating is the huge fan of open semicircular windows, which also depicts a beautiful passage of the renowned Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier, who narrates a scene of colonial Cuban architecture.

Estos vitrales los fotografié en una segunda visita al Museo de Arte Colonial, y desde mi criterio, forman parte nuestro patrimonio material, pues resulta increíble la variedad y belleza que podemos observar caminando por las calles de La Habana. Especialmente en la Habana Vieja, que constituye una mezcla perfecta de antigüedad con modernidad. La mayoría de estos son de medio punto, aunque en concordancia con el tipo de curva también de media elipse, herradura o agudo.Uno de los más fascinantes es el enorme abanico de cristales abiertos de medio punto, que describe además un hermoso pasaje del reconocido escritor cubano Alejo Carpentier, que narra una escena de la arquitectura cubana colonial.
