Gorgeous Saturday weather. Sunny and bright, although a bit breezy.

We drove to the other town for the burial of a distant relative who lost his short battle to cancer. It is sad, but the disease keeps taking lives. It used to be a foreign ailment to us in the past, yet it is now becoming a common cause of death among people in the locality, no matter the age or status in life (young and old, financially able or not).

We arrived at the venue around mid-morning, and because we didn't bring an umbrella, plus Yongi usually gets overwhelmed when there are many people, we decided to stay in the shaded spot at the elementary school, where we could hear the ongoing services, as it is literally the bereaved family's next-door neighbor.

While there, we enjoyed the nice view and were also fascinated by how the school children had grown vegetables (beans, onions, pechay or Chinese chard, and others) in pots and on repurposed Coca-Cola plastic bottles. The plants seemed to love their little zones; they were thriving well.

I was telling the hubby we can do the same here in DD, and he suggested using sacks instead of pots. That would also work, why not? The question is, when will we start? Funny that we had been planning to have a little home garden, but hadn't done a thing until now. My gardening spirit seems to have gone elsewhere, lol!

Except for the eggplants that are fruiting generously in the backyard, we don't have anything else. We discarded the lima beans because pests ruined them. The pumpkin died too soon, but at least we enjoyed a few of its fruits. But yeah, we should kick our arses and start growing some greens right after the holidays.

Anyway, we left and drove home around 2 pm, and the LilGuy must have been tired; he took a nap soon after we entered the house. He even made my leg his pillow, lol!

And so we spent the rest of the afternoon resting. We will be on a long trip tomorrow morning, either to the city or to the Ilocos region. We shall see which way our compass would take us. It should be fun!
