Hello Diyhubbers, it’s another week of me learning crochet and exploring beginner-friendly designs.

Today I made a beautiful wall decoration and tried beading for the first time.

I'm learning to give myself grace and also learning to accept that I’m not gonna be a badass at crocheting overnight. I’m learning crochet for fun and as such I’d try treat it that way. I won’t be under any form of pressure to create breathing designs.

To make this beautiful wall decoration, I used the following materials and followed the steps below.

Materials
Yarn
Crochet hook
Scissors
Pearl beads

$1

Procedure

Step 1:
Start by making a slip knot, proceed to make 138 chains. The size of your wall decoration depends on the number of chains you make.

$1

Step 2:
Skip the first stitch and make a single crochet into the second stitch from the hook. Proceed to make a half double crochet followed by a slip stitch until you complete the row.

Step 3:
End the row by making a single crochet in the last stitch and begin the new row by making a chain and turning your work.

Step 4:
Continue the pattern of half double crochet and slip stitch but this time you’d be working with the back loop.

Step 5:
Continue the pattern until you’re satisfied with the size.

Step 6:
Stitch the edges together to form the heart shape.

Step 7:
Design your wall decoration with pearl beads.

Step 8:
Make an I-chord with your yarn and attach it to your wall decoration and viola! Your wall decoration is ready!
