Hello, my dearest hivers! How's everything going so far? I hope you're all doing fine. It's actually been a while since I uploaded my last blog here. It's me again @iamjamil, back with another blog to share with you today.

Last month September 20 2025, as part of the YES-O Club, we had an International Coastal Cleanup Drive at Hagnaya, San Remigio Cebu. It was an activity that aims to help our community by cleaning up the coastal areas and also spreading awareness about the importance of taking care of our environment.

First thing first, we planned to meet at the fish port around 5:30 in the morning so everyone could gather early. I woke up extra early that day and prepared everything that I will be needing. By 5:20 a.m., I decided to leave and head to the fish port. The funniest part was that I didn’t actually know where the fish port was! I ended up walking around a bit lost and confused and trying to figure out which direction to take. Thankfully, our chairperson arrived earlier than me and messaged in our group chat asking who had already arrived. That’s when I realized I was heading the wrong way. Thankfully, I managed to find my way to the meeting spot just in time.

When everyone arrived, we first had our attendance to make sure all members are present. While waiting for the activity to start, we talked, laughed, and took some pictures to remember. Before the clean-up officially began there was a short program led by the organization who took an initiative of this clean-up drive. They diicussed the specific areas that we were assigned to clean and reminded us about the safety precautions. We were divided into groups and given tasks to focus on certain spots around the fish port and nearby shorelines.

Everyone work together, helping each another carry bags of trash and making sure no spot was left not cleaned. There was a sense of teamwork and fulfillment knowing that even in our small way we were doing something good for the environment and of course to our community. When we finally finished we gather again to take a group photo. Looking around, the place looked so much better than when we first arrive. It was such a satisfying moment to see how our cooperation made the place more greener and cleaner.
