An open air bookstore in the streets of Cairo, Egypt.

In the Coptic quarter, near the Nunnery of Saint George, we can find beautiful small streets to stroll.

The use of the space at their disposal is fascinating.

A little further, we stumbled upon a Catholic cemetery.

Decorated with mosaic vase and beautiful palm trees, it is not the typical decoration that one could expect in this place.

Lovely.

This is the entrance to a crypt found in the same cemetery.

In Europe we see a lot of them, but never in this style.

I'm not sure what the artist wanted to represent.

Personally, it reminds me of a lava flow.

when leaving, we find a renaissance style statue surrounded by columns.

The work is not finished, but I imagine a happy mixture of genres once completed.

Moreover, a medieval aqueduct system which has been part of the décor for a long time.

It is almost complete, even if it is no longer functional since the 19th century.

I must say that it is not very highlighted and it is a shame.
