Vegan pastry with pumpkin taste
3 comments
Hello, friends and community Greetings. Sometimes we need some snacks to enjoy with our evening coffee or tea. I often make our snacks at home. We don't like very fatty snacks sold in shops. This time I made some crispy pastry using pumpkin puree. and would like to share a tutorial on how to make it. It is simple with available ingredients and delicious.
Ingredients:
Cooked pumpkin approx 1 cup puree.
2 cups of white flour
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
oil to fry and make dough. ( I use an old mustard bottle to store my oil for daily use.
In the bowl or plate gather sugar, salt cumin powder, and 1/4 cup of oil.
Peel the pumpkin skin and get a soft pulp of pumpkin, approximately 1/3 cup in measure.
Here is sugar, salt, cumin powder, and pumpkin puree.
Mix them together.
Add 2 cups of flour.
Knead the mixture until into a nice dough, not so hard not so soft.
Cover and keep aside for around 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes divide the dough and make round balls of it.
Roll dough balls into thin sheets using a rolling pin. make it as thinner as possible 2mm.
Drizzle some oil on them and spread it evenly.
Then sprinkle some flour evenly over each one.
Using a knife cut into strips.
Take two strips and roll them into a round spiral shape.
Like this.
Press with fingers keeping the rolled part upward. can use a rolling pin to flatten the spiral.
Another way to make it is to roll the ball in a sheet, spread oil, and then flour. Put another one on the top.
Roll them carefully in a long roll.
Cut the roll into diamond shapes.
Press the ends with your finger.
Heat the oil. I used 1 cup after one time frying I don't use the same oil for making food I just discard it.
Fry them at medium heat from both sides.
The crispy pumpkin-colored, delicious snacks are ready.
the layers can be separated.
Thank you.
