Freewrite: Rain on a Village Road
2 comments

This morning, the village atmosphere felt so calm and fresh. The rain had just stopped, leaving the roads still wet and the air humid. The scent of wet earth combined with the scent of rain-washed leaves, creating a natural, soothing atmosphere. I walked along the small path in front of the house, watching the water droplets still falling from the tips of the leaves, glistening in the faint light of the cloudy sky.
On the right side of the road, a woman stood near her fence, holding a wooden stick. Perhaps she had just finished clearing the yard of small branches blown by the wind. Meanwhile, in the distance, two motorcyclists rode slowly, careful not to slip on the slippery road. The sound of the motorcycle engines combined with the chirping of birds that had begun to return after the rain, creating a lively atmosphere.
I noticed a row of ornamental plants on the left side of the road their leaves appeared greener, as if thanking the recent rain. The pale orange fence wall contrasted sharply with the surrounding greenery, providing a sense of warmth amidst the chilly weather. A gentle breeze blew, bringing a hint of dew, touching my face and adding to the coolness of this morning.
Rain in the village always brings a certain serenity. There's no noise from large vehicles, no hustle and bustle of people rushing about. There's only the sounds of nature, the simplicity of life, and a sense of peace rarely found in the city. Moments like these make me realize the preciousness of small, often-missed moments like enjoying the quiet streets after a rainstorm, or simply greeting a neighbor standing by the roadside.
I stood for a moment, took a deep breath, letting the fresh air fill my lungs. Perhaps this is the simple happiness many people have been searching for not from grand or luxurious things, but from the beauty hidden in everyday life. On this wet street, among the green leaves and cloudy sky, I found a small, priceless peace.
