Tuesday was to be another rainy day, so I planned to rest and if I could start the bill paying/budget. I got no photos. So here’s a collection of old ones.

Above, Tom’s drone got this of the whole back 40 in July 2020.

I got up at 5AM on Tuesday, got my post up and chores done then started the bills. My brother got up about 8:30AM and was just leaving for work when he said, there’s someone at the door…

Because I am posting this on May Day, I selected some of the better photos from various Mays over the years.

Apple blossom on the MacIntosh, May 2018

I’d known the chimney sweep was coming, but had forgotten. So he got busy on both the stove and the masonry heater. I kept working on the bills.

He left a couple hours later and I worked until 11AM. I ate something.

Oriole on the catalpa, May 2014

The orioles used to arrive just as the crabapple was flowering. They ate the flowers. But now the crabapple flowers so early, they’ve missed it the last 2 years, and might just miss again this year. Tom says he thought he heard an oriole at his place on the weekend…

I was so tired, I finally gave up and went to bed at 1PM and slept 2½ hours.

North Corner garden, primroses, May 2015

I didn’t get anything else done when I got up, except cook supper with my brother.

Old North garden , Sylvia violet, May 2006

May Day this year is overcast and cool. Past May Days have been much nicer.

West maple with tulips, May 2006

Before construction in 2019, this maple stood on the west side of the house and provided lovely shade in summer. The tulips around it are the red and yellow tulips you now see in various gardens, as I dug them and saved them.

I could find no good May Day photos, so these during the month of May will have to do.

On Wednesday I hope to finish picking up wood along the stretch I showed at the top of the post. My general helper is coming at noon and we have 12 trays of seedlings to start.
