MKBHD Explores the Enhanced Features of Apple AirPods Pro 2

In a recent review by technology enthusiast Marques Brownlee on his popular YouTube channel MKBHD, he expresses initial disinterest in reviewing Apple's newly launched AirPods Pro 2. Amid the abundance of tech releases, Brownlee was initially focused on other devices. However, after receiving a customized pair of the earbuds from Apple, complete with his own Memoji, he found himself impressed by their quality despite his initial reluctance to unbox them.

Brownlee highlights the subtle design changes, such as the dual vents at the top, which are the most noticeable visual differences from the previous generation. But it's the internal improvements that steal the show; an entirely new driver and amplifier have elevated the audio experience, offering richer lows and mids, making them Apple's best-sounding earbuds to date. Even without lossless audio support, the sound quality at 16 bit, 48-kilohertz audio is remarkable. Additionally, the new AirPods boast an enhanced battery life, lasting up to thirty hours with the case and six hours of playback with noise cancellation enabled.

The most significant innovations, according to Brownlee, come down to the H2 chip housed within the earbuds. The next-gen processor not only improves the active noise cancellation but also introduces new features like enhanced battery life and an improved fit with an additional extra-small ear tip option. The revamped case, with its lanyard loop and built-in speaker for location tracking akin to an AirTag, adds practical utility. Notably, the AirPods Pro 2 case is compatible with Apple Watch chargers, a nod to Apple's ecosystem integration. Yet, despite all these features, it was the precise control enabled by the H2 chip, including the new volume gesture on the earbud stem, which convinced Brownlee of the device's superiority.
