Hello dear Hivers, and my fellow creative needleworkers, I hope you are having a wonderful day going. I feel so glad to make it to another exciting needleworkmonday, where I get to see the beautiful creations you've been up to lately, as I also get to share mine as well.

One question i'm already used to being asked by my friends, family and client, is advice on what tho make of a fabric they either bought or were gifted, they have that conviction that Glory will always come up with a solution for them, lol, i don't know how i do it, maybe it's talent or super powers, because, definitely, a solution sparks up in my head after seeing the fabric.

Just like this colourful ankara print, a friend had brought it with a worried face, not knowing what to make of its 3 yards. A kimono shirt and shorts, I said almost instantly as the picture formed in my mind, I guess she sees it too, and instantly agreed with me with a wide smile.

'Please, make it beautiful, she said, and that kick-started my needleworkmonday. Just finished making the Kimono shift blouse, which I will be sharing with you today, and maybe the short process during the week.

It's a very simple sewing technique and can be done in about an hour. So without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

Cuttin==g And Sewing Process

image.png

  • I started by folding the fabric into four folds, first horizontally, and then vertically, then I cut out the front and back pattern together, shaping out just the back neckline first.

  • Then I opened it up and placed it on the side to fold, to trim out the front

  • Moving on, I measured around the cut-out neckline from one end to the other, which determined the length of the cut-out strip I will be sewing around the neckline

  • Here is what it looked like, before sewing it around.

  • Finally, I folded and hemmed the sleeves and the base of the blouse before joining the sides, and with that. The beautiful blouse was completed.

Beautiful, isn't it?
