How to control people

Have you ever thought about the concept of control. What about the the very idea of how to control people. Is it possible that we can actually control people, or that we can be controlled.

As a random observation I was thinking about this idea of control. I was thinking about why someone would try to control another person. What would the outcome of that even be.

I have come to the conclusion that we shouldn't, and life should be voluntary. I know what you might say.."well yeah Yeti, no one should control someone else". I don't think it is that simple.

While on a large scale we may thing about control like ownership, and that everyone should have their own rights. That's not really what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about the large scale societal idea of control, but the tiny or even microscopic bits of control.

Have you ever been in a situation where you have used your words to steer someone's decision? Have you ever talked someone into something? I have. I used to be in sales, and actually, I sell tons of things. Currently I am making and selling custom knives.

It could be something as small as convincing someone of something. To get someone to see something your way. To get someone to change their mind. Couldn't that be considered as control?

I think that there could be countless examples of things that people do each day to each other that would fit the description of control. But why?

Is it because we want validation? Is it because we want to be right? Is it because we want to know what is best for others? Is it because we want to feel like the outcome of our lives have been our choice the whole time? Could it be that we just want to do things our way?

I think yes to all of those, and many more. It could become a pretty deep subject, but let's keep it just at the surface. If we know that we as humans can be programmed, and trained like animals.... should we allow it to happen to others, and should we be the ones doing it?

I say no. I say that we all have a right to not be controlled by others or situational outcomes.

Be well
