Dressing differs for different individuals due to its uniqueness which can be traced back to culture. a lot of people dress in certain ways that conforms with their cultural heritage and beliefs. Nigeria which is home for hundreds of ethnic groups and tribe, makes the whole cultural dressing pattern more fascinating. you can easily tell what tribe a person is from based on their manner of dressing, well that used to be the case in olding days, these days only few people have that cultural perspective when it comes to dressing.

Apart from cultural influence in our pattern of dressing, religion also plays its own part. I could remember during my days in school. whenever we see an individual with an oversized skirt, we automatically believe the lady is an SU (Scripture Union) which is a group of religious individuals, specifically Christians. the first Christian gathering that exist on campus before the introduction of campus fellowship. their dressing are meant to conform with religious morals and ethics and an example set to fight against indecent dressing but eventually the term SU became a general term used for people with odd dressing.

When it comes to my pattern of dressing, none of those things mentioned above influences my dressing behaviour in any way. though I am a typical Yoruba guy but it is hard to tell because most times I don't really act like one or talk like one. in public I speak English mostly especially in school because it is a language understood by all but at home or among my Yoruba speaking friends, I speak Yoruba language.

To make matters worst, I am not a fan of wearing native dresses it makes me look weird in a way I can't really explain, the native dress I wore in that picture above was due to FYB week in school, which is some kind of compulsory social activity in school. I was forced by friends to sow that cloth, which I wore once ever since then.

it is not that I don't have respect for cultural dressing but my days in boarding school totally influenced my pattern of dressing. for those who have attended boarding school especially in Nigeria will understand what I am trying to say. in boarding school, we only have two dress code, which are named school uniform and hostel wear. the school uniform is what we wear during school hours while hostel wear is what we wear after school hours in the hostel.

So the whole idea of fashion sense never really got to me, my ideal type of cloth is very simple, which is governed by two rules. As long as the cloth is not heavy on me it is fine by me and as long as the cloth is easy to pull off is fine by me 馃槄. you can hardly see me put on pencil Jean or tight dresses 馃槃, it makes me feel like something is pinching my skin.

Though when it comes to dressing for notable occasions and event which demand planning ahead of time to make sure everything that will be worn looks good and smart but apart from that my favourite dress code is wearing of joggers and a round neck top or sweat shirt. My dad would say the only reason I put on cloth is to prevent me from walking naked 馃槄, though I'm very sensitive about what I wear, make sure it covers my body but any cloth that feels heavy on me makes me uncomfortable.
