Sublime Sunday - A Visit to the Donkey Sanctuary
0 comments

We paid a visit to the local donkey sanctuary. It isn't always open to the general public, but they do have six days between April and September for people to go and visit.

The sanctuary provides a permanent home to some of the older donkeys and the ones that have long term medical ssues. The healthy ones go out on ‘permanent loan’ under the constant supervision of the sanctuary.

This little donkey has protective slippers on as it has laminitis, which is inflammation of the soft tissue inside the hoof.

The donkeys have lots of toys to play with to keep them occupied, including wellies and tyres. They like a bit of welly wanging!

This memorial celebrates all the donkeys who have gone over to the Rainbow Bridge.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the donkeys were definitely happy and well looked after.
