A Happy 1st Birthday to my Favourite Café

After a good walk this morning, I stopped by my favourite local café, and as soon as I walked in, the owners greeted me with my “usual.” It either shows they have a good memory or it could be proof that I might be visiting just a tad too often! I think it might be the latter ...
The café always has a warm and inviting atmosphere, whether you are a regular or a first-time visitor, but today it was particularly colourful as the owners were celebrating their first birthday. They had lots of balloons up, that added a nice touch. I sat next to them hoping, they wouldn't pop!
A lot of businesses fail in the first three years but this little café has really taken off. I still can't believe how many times I've driven past thinking it was just a sandwich shop. I'm definitely making up for lost time. It has taught me to never judge a book by its cover.
The café also does various things such as holding a book club and hosting a friendship group where you can call in for a natter. In the next couple of months they are holding a psychic night with a psychic medium. I think I will pass on that one!
Yes, I enjoyed my usual order: a creamy cappuccino made with oat milk and chocolate sprinkles. I’m not sure how they achieve it, but it is the best coffee in the area by far. I could quite easily have had a mug full.
In addition to that, I enjoyed a hearty veggie fry-up. While I have a healthy appetite, I must confess that I struggled to finish my breakfast due to its generous portion size. I did persevere though! I don’t like wasting food.
