Hey dear Hive friends, first of all I would like to welcome you with friendly words to my new post and hope you are all doing well! In my new post I would like to present you a work of art and hope you like it.
Here you can see a definitely very own and abstract-looking work of art that has been made of ceramic and presents a frog that sits on the back of a snail. I think the artist has made a great effort and created a work that looks extremely authentic and stylish and is definitely something you don't get to see every day. On the facial characteristics of the frog you can see what level of detail the artist has worked with and also the interaction of the different colors gives the work of art an additional effect.
In both mythology and symbolism, frogs and snails can be found and are deeply rooted. Frogs can also be found in the symbolism of the old alchemists and are often associated with transformation and refinement. A few weeks ago I already presented another work of art of a frog and have already gone into more detail about symbolism and mythology in the post and if you want to learn more about it, you will find my contribution
.From a symbolic point of view, snails are usually associated with wisdom, slowness as well as inertia and inconspicuousness. In Greek mythology, there is a legend in which a transformation into a snail is described and snails are also associated with the sea god Triton. In ancient cultures, it was also often considered a symbol of the universe and the typical spiral shape of snails was also integrated in Renaissance architecture and can be found in many old buildings.
Snails can also be found in Buddhism and, according to legends, they are associated with the wisdom of Buddha and rhetoric. In ancient Egypt, snails were often used to obtain dyes and it also occurs in heraldry and can be found in various coats of arms. Snails are also deeply rooted in art history for hundreds of years and have often been depicted in different works of art such as murals, sculptures or paintings and many more.
Many thanks for stopping by and watching! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
