Here you can see primroses in different colors, which can not only enchant the location with the diverse color scheme, but is also an important source of food for insects and that's exactly what this post should be about how insects react to colors. Insects see colors very differently than humans and can even see color spectrums that we do not recognize such as ultraviolet light and some colors such as red cannot be recognized by some insects while others are a great help to better find their food and the reduced view of colors leads to the fact that insects perceive red flowers as black and are only able to recognize colors up to green. Especially insects fly to strong colors such as yellow and especially during bad weather insects see yellow particularly well and this effect can also be seen well in summer if you wear a yellow t-shirt and thus numerous insects become aware of you. Even brighter colors that stand out from the background are a great help for insects and even at night insects can perceive these colors particularly well and also the UV pattern of the different shapes of flowers makes it easier for insects to find the right opening to collect the maximum number of pollen or nectar in this way. Some insects see the structure very differently than humans and a good example are bees that have thousands of eyes which is also known as the compound eye and thus bees see a kind of grid and everything in different pixels. In the research, the behavior of insects was also of great importance to examine certain colors and specifically address what happens parallel in their memory and also the energy level or the well-being of insects can be affected by different colors.
