Cutting Some Aluminum for the First Time On the CNC Metal Plasma Cutting Table! My Actifit Report Card: May 15 2025

Nothing too. Very exciting to see, but it was nice to have some success cutting aluminum on our machine. We hadn't had a chance, or a reason to try yet. But the opportunity arose and we tried cutting some 1/8" thick and 1/4" thick aluminum plate.

We also learned about the potential for explosion when cutting aluminum with lithium in it.

We played with our speed and amperage and we ended up getting some pretty good cuts!

I think we could probably cut some 3/8 thick! But that's probably where the machine would top out.
