Vuelve Carolina: a fancy natural restaurant in Valencia, Spain

Hello archi lovers!

In any place we can look at what surrounds us, and we may discover fantastic designs and architectural styles that are captivating and impressive. Not only in historical monuments or great urban planning, but also in common places such as a restaurant.

And this time we visited one of those restaurants, glamorous by one of those famous chefs, and in addition to the modern designer food, we also looked at the modern design of the establishment itself.

This is the restaurant called "Vuelve Carolina" by Quique Dacosta (famous Spanish chef) located in the city of Valencia in Spain. This chef has several restaurants and on this day we visited the one in the center, a few steps from the Town Hall Square.

Restaurant Decoration

The decoration catches our attention, a somewhat dark but fresh environment with a natural touch, with a lot of wood, soft and earthy colors and many plants. I imagine they are all artificial, but there are many almost everywhere, even on the bottle shelves behind the bar... The greenery invades everything.

There are not only plants, but also a kind of subtle lamps in the shape of large leaves and small points of light, which makes the environment a more suggestive and intimate place, with a touch of nature created in a creative and modern way.

But in the bar we see the cute lamps, very flirtatious with fringes of earthy and brown colors that give a casual and original characteristic touch to the entire place.

Suddenly a groundbreaking and unexpected touch, a yellow cart, where they manage drinks or other things, seems to have fallen from somewhere else, but it fulfills its function and may give a more fun character to an environment that is as sober as it is natural, right? ?

And at the back there is another area, more intimate and secluded, where even a tree seems to preside over the center of the space along with other large plants that surround us on the way to the bathroom. The modern again combines with the natural.

Restrooms

As always, the bathroom was at the back on the right, after passing through the decorative vegetation, a beautiful wooden door welcomes us into a kind of waiting room with nice, soft seats, they seem as comfortable as those at the tables.
A clean, simple and modern area, where not only the wooden walls stand out but also one with divided mirrors. We look at ourselves and go back to the place to eat!

Plates & Food

Well, in addition to the decoration, you also have to look at the table, and try the food. While we eat some original designer dishes, they change the tableware, and some of the plates are truly beautiful.

We taste modern and fancy food, dishes made with strange or not so common ingredients and decorated with beautiful shapes, an exotic and somewhat oriental touch in almost all the dishes, and as we see the design is not only in the restaurant but in the food itself.

The Exit: Come back!

We're leaving, and at the exit we turn and look at the façade, at the name and logo of the establishment. We look again at the name "Vuelve Carolina" which means: Come back, Carolina.
The chef may want Carolina to come back to the restaurant to enjoy these original and colorful dishes, but also all those plants and fancy natural design in the restaurant. Maybe we too will come back...
