For over 12 days, the black community, people of colour and majority of the human race around the world have mourned the unfortunate death of George Floyd. After a disturbing video which showed the painful details of how he died was circulated on social media, there was a massive protest not just in the U.S but across major cities of the world.
While many had genuine reasons to share a tear, others seized the opportunity to vandalize and wreak havoc across the most powerful nation of the world.
While the protest went on, 18-year-old Antonio Gwynn Jr from Bailey Avenue in Buffalo spent his time cleaning his neighbourhood. Little did he know that someone was watching him during the 10 hour-long cleaning session.
Bailey Avenue in Buffalo was covered in glass and garbage after protests occasioned by George Floyd’s death, Fox 8 reports.
Matt Block who was impressed by Gwynn’s story took it upon himself to reward the young lad by gifting him a prized 2004 red Mustang convertible.
As if that was not enough, Bob Briceland, a local businessman on hearing the development, decided to afford Gwynn free 1-year insurance for his new ride.
To crown it all up, he received a scholarship from Medaille College in Buffalo where he will be studying Business.
Antonio reacted to all of this in shock and expressed gratitude thus:
“I appreciate everything everyone is doing for me”
