Happy Three Kings Day! May all your heartfelt wishes come true, especially for the children! Although we haven't gone out much during these Christmas holidays, the few outings we have made have left us with very fond memories, such as this walk through downtown Mérida, where we took advantage of the decorations in the shopping malls to take family photos and remember these moments with my son.

I had promised my son a trip to one of his favorite parks today, but right now it's better to stay home. We've been playing with his Christmas presents, and every day has become an opportunity to spend time together before school and training start again.

Angel has taught me many things these days; he is a very focused child who is able to understand the situations around him, from the perspective of a 6-year-old. Although I tried to protect him from adult concerns, I always tried to be honest with him and tell him how things were. Today, for example, I found out that the project I was working on has come to an end and that I won't have that income for a while, at least until I am assigned another one, which I hope will be soon. When he saw me looking sad and worried, he came up to me and said, “Don't worry, Mom, these things happen.”

As a mom, I want to take advantage of these days to reorganize some things, try new routines that involve a few hours of writing and reading practice, include some physical activities, and rearrange and plan some things at home that I've been putting off due to lack of time.

So what we need to do in uncertain situations is trust in ourselves, in God, and take advantage of the momentum and support our children give us, regardless of their age.

Aunque en estas vacaciones navideñas no hemos salido muchas veces, los pocos paseos que hemos realizado nos han dejado recuerdos muy gratos, como este paseo por el centro de Mérida, donde aprovechamos las decoraciones de los centros comerciales para capturar fotos en familia y recordar estos momentos con mi hijo.

Para el día de hoy le tenía prometido un paseo a mi hijo a uno de sus parques favoritos, pero en estos momentos es mejor permanecer en casa. Hemos estado jugando con sus regalos de Navidad y cada día se ha convertido en una oportunidad para pasar tiempo juntos antes de que inicien las clases y sus entrenamientos.

Angel me ha enseñado muchas cosas estos días; es un niño muy centrado que es capaz de comprender las situaciones que lo rodean, desde la visión de un niño de 6 años. Aunque trató de protegerlo de las preocupaciones de adultos, siempre trató de ser sincera con él y contarle cómo están las cosas. Hoy, por ejemplo, me enteré de que el proyecto en el que trabajaba llegó a su fin y que no tendré ese ingreso por un tiempo, al menos, hasta que me asignen otro que espero sea pronto, y él, al verme triste y preocupada, se acercó a mí y me dijo: Tranquila, mamá, son cosas que pasan.

Como mamá, quiero aprovechar estos días para reorganizar algunas cosas, intentar nuevas rutinas que involucren algunas horas para practicar la escritura y la lectura, también incluir algunas actividades físicas y reordenar y planificar algunas cosas en casa que he ido postergando por falta de tiempo.
