What an incredible year it’s been for the DIYHub Community! To wrap up 2024 on a high note, we’re thrilled to announce our final contest of the year. This time, we’ve partnered with our amazing friends at ecency.com to bring you something truly special. As is tradition, the theme for December is Christmas: a celebration we’ve embraced every year since launching these contests.

We want to take a moment to thank each of you for your dedication, creativity, and contributions. Your engagement, thoughtful comments, and valuable feedback are what make this community so vibrant and inspiring.

Looking forward to a
creative, exciting, and positive
2025 together with all of you ❤️

Thank you Ecency!

Ecency not only offers a beautiful UI and a wide array of features but also delivers versatile mobile apps and an exceptional web frontend. Beyond that, their dedication to community work is truly amazing - they guide new users, maintain a vibrant and active Discord server, and are always ready to help with any questions you might have.

You’re probably familiar with Ecency already, but have you heard about Ecency Waves? This is Ecency’s short content feature, complete with its very own app, available now on the Google Play Store.

The Ecency team is hard at work, currently updating much of the website’s code behind the scenes. Excitingly, the new Waves frontend will soon be live at ecency.com/waves!

In the meantime, you can explore Ecency Waves through several options:

The Decks feature is a unique and powerful tool that lets you filter, explore, and organize the content you want to engage with daily - all conveniently in one place!

Before diving into the details of this month’s theme, let’s take a moment to reflect on the previous month’s contest themed around the 4 Elements!

Review of the Previous Contest

Our last contest was something of an experiment, as we kept the theme intentionally broad to give you maximum creative freedom: 4 Elements.

We were delighted to receive 35 unique creative projects submitted as contest entries. However, we also noticed a significant drop in participation compared to previous months, where themes were more specific.

Additionally, many entries ended up being quite similar, likely because participants drew inspiration from each other to create something that fit the broad theme.

While we anticipated this possibility, it’s now clear: too much freedom in a contest can sometimes limit creativity rather than inspire it. That said, we’re grateful for the chance to test this idea and deeply appreciate all the effort and thought you put into your submissions over the past weeks.

Here are all participants:
@laranitacrochet @ikigaidesign @hector077 @m16uellop @leannwithdoublen @giocondina @verdeayer @fixie @ioanna-m @elentogether @divergente1 @rodriguezkike232 @pari.warsh @lanoican @mdakash62 @marlynmont @edeyglezsosa @gltorres12 @sofathana @hadianoor @yale95reyra @hindavi @ukotex @niya57829 @noorchaudhary

To us, every one of you is a winner for sharing your incredible skills and creativity! However, as always, we had the challenging task of selecting three participants to receive our prizes. It wasn’t an easy decision, but here are the chosen winners!

🥇 1st Prize: @verdeayer with Pots inspired by the elements 🌱🔥 4 Elements Contest!

🥈 2nd Prize: @ioanna-m with Embroidered square of the 4 Elements - DIYHub Contest [ENG-ESP]

🥉 3rd Prize: @fixie with Sakura Tree Painting - A Fusion of the Elements CONTEST (Water, Earth and Air) [ENG-ESP]

Dear friends, you all will receive your prize as soon as possible :)

Theme of this month - Christmas

In many countries around the world, Christmas is celebrated throughout the entire month of December. Historically, this month has also brought the highest levels of engagement in our contests, so we’re eagerly anticipating a wave of inspiring Christmas-themed entries from all of you. As we review your submissions, we’re also preparing for a well-deserved, calm phase to close out the year.
