Upgraded to Olympus Pen EPL-8 fish eye lenses.

A while back Hive photo fans you may recall I invested in a Micro 4/3 7Artisans 4mm F2.8 225deg Fisheye.
Well it was giving me some issues because the very wide angle was always picking up my fat fingers on the grips for my Olympus OMD EM-5 and EM-1 and my original plan was to use my Pen mini if I needed too but it is a bit old in the tooth slow and being temperamental. So I stopped using the lens completely.
So if I want to get the best use out of the lens time to invest. The EPL-8 is quite a lot modern compared to the Pen Mini but the lack of a finger grip should keep my fingers out of the photo at least. And a nice compromise between a brand new £1000 OM option and much more affordable.
EP-8 No fingers in shot.
EM-1 Fingers and grip in shot .
The new camera is a lot more modern than the Mini and a bit more chunky but nice and steady with the fisheye.
The couple of big advantages of the EPL-8 over the mini I are the articulating view screen so low down photos are easy and the same updated Olympus menus system that is on my OMD EM-1 that really saves a lot of confusion going between camera.
I had not planned on getting the white leather version for the EP-8 but it was the one available at the price I was willing to pay. I know fingerprints are going to be an issue so the investment of a leather 1/2 case seems a good plan. The one I found is really for the EP-7 which has a thicker finger grip but it fits the 8 well enough and was about £30 cheaper than a dedicated EP-8 for some reason.
So there you go Hive photo fans a nice new to me Olympus Pen camera and no excuse now not to ge out there with the 7Artisans 4mm F2.8 fisheye.
