Happy new year Hivers!

Hive data card for 2025:

2.6M Hive Accounts

We are right at 2.603M, or just 3k account above the number. Not a lot of progress on new accounts in 2025, around 50k new accounts were created, similar as the prior year of 2024.

220k Active Accounts

This is a yearly number, meaning this many accounts made at least one type of transaction on the chain in 2025. On a daily basis this number has been hovering around 20k, while on a monthly basis around 50k. A lot of the active accounts are Splinterlands players. Just for posting on a yearly basis there is around 40k, similar as voting and account that are curating.
When compared to last year this number was close to 350k, meaning there have been a downtrend in the active accounts.

40k Content Creators

These are accounts that have made one post or a comment. This is the core activity on the chain so to speak. The number of these accounts is the same as the previous year. A somewhat constat numbers although on a monthly basis it is down in the last months.

250M Transactions

The feeless transactions are where Hive shines. A total of 250M transactions were made on chain, or around 680k daily average. Again, a lot of these are custom json transactions, that are used for gaming, but in 2025 these types of transactions were down, so there is a big share of the other transactions as well, especially curation.
When compared to the previous year, when there were more than 330M the numbers are down, again mostly because of less gaming transactions. The other transactions are more stable.

8M USD Distributed to Users

All the different participants in the Hive ecosystem received a total of 8M USD. This number is a little bit tricky because of the Hive price.
Authors and curators each got around 1.6M USD, DHF workers got 2.5M, HBD interest were around 1.2M, witness around 500k and around 700k to staking rewards.

8M Posts and Comments

This number has been quite stable, with a small decrease when compared to 2024 when there was around 9M posts and comments.

28M TVL

Total Locked Value is something that other chains use a lot as a metric. There is now a total of 200M Hive powered up. The numbers have grown from 184M from the beginning of the year, but the liquid Hive has increased as well, so while we are up in absolute terms, we are down in relative terms. Also, if we add the HBD in savings that has been around 8M for almost the whole year we get to the number of 28M TVL. As the value of the HIVE has dropped so does the TVL.
